Stoner flick Pineapple Express rolled in $12.15 million on its first day at the U.S. box office on Wednesday.

What an opening!

According to reports, that will likely translate to a a 5-day opening of $42-$45 million, well above industry expectations.

The movie was budgeted at only $27 million.

Major profit for the film studio!
