Charlie Sheen’s wife, Brooke Mueller, required emergency gall-bladder surgery last week, an operation that can be risky during the early stages of pregnancy.

The couple’s publicist confirmed that she was treated at Cedars Sinai in LA and discharged late last week and stressed that it had nothing to do with her pregnancy.

The momma-to-be reportedly spent five days at the hospital and has been recuperating at home for the past four days.

But, she was well enough to attend Sunday’s Emmy Awards ceremony.

According to a medical expert, an infected gall bladder can be life threatening not just for the baby but also to the mother.
