Alicia Keysshocking comments to Blender magazine sure has kicked up quite the firestorm for the singer.

Keys called-in to Ryan Seacrestradio show Tuesday to do damage control “clear things up.”

Overall, she thought the Blender article was great, but she is disappointed that the mag decided to put a ‘negative spin’ on her comments.

Alicia thinks she was misconstrued in the article and she’s like us to know….

- That she’s a very positive person.
- Her only aim is to uplift people and spread love.
- She’s not a conspiracy theorist.
- The government didn’t create gangsta rap, just the term. And, she thinks they could have done more at the time to do something about the problems the rappers were talking about.
- She doesnt know who killed Biggie and 2pac, but she thinks the media sensationalized their deaths and their rivalry.

And there you have it!

If that Blender reporter has an audio recording of the Alicia interview, we’d LOVE to post it on PerezHilton.com!

This is truly amazing!

Almost two months since it’s release, Josh Groban’s new album, the Christmas collection Noel, is topping the charts in America.

The record moved 405,041 copies in the last seven days, according to the new Soudscan charts. That’s almost DOUBLE the amount he sold in the previous week!

Why the huge jump?

Groban appeared on Oprah’s “Favorite Things” show last Tuesday.

Magic!

Groban’s album has already been certified platinum. Good going!

Also crazy this week, Disney’s High School Musical 2 soundtrack has jumped back into the Top Ten.

Blame Tina!

Four months after its release, the High School Musical 2 soundtrack is #6 this week, selling 182,962 copies - bringing its total album sales to 2.3 million!

Alicia Keys’s latest CD continues to move massive amounts. Her As I Am sold 348,548 copies this past week.

American Idol alum Jordin Sparks managed to sell 119,119 copies in her debut week. Unfortunately, that was only good enough for a tenth place finish! That’s the lowest first week sales of any Idol winner ever.

Fellow Idol champ Carrie Underwood, continues to do very well. Her latest, Carnival Ride, in its 5th week is outperforming Sparks.

Carrie moved an additional 141,406 copies this week. Her album has already gone platinum.

Amazing! AMAZING!

There is no other word to describe this!

Alicia Keys‘ new album, As I Am, has done EVEN BETTER than expected.

The Soundscan numbers are in and Alicia sold an astonishing 742,426 copies in the U.S. since its release last week. That’s massive!

It’s also THREE times as many copies as the #2 disc sold. And coming in second - somewhat of a surprise - is Josh Groban. His Christmas album Noel sold a very healthy 223,306 copies. And it’s already been out a few weeks!

Groban’s appearance on Oprah yesterday will likely ensure him equally big numbers next week and throughout the holiday season.

Celine Dion’s first album of new material, Taking Chances, came in 3rd, selling 214,381 copies.

And, poor Britney Spears, isn’t even in the top 10 anymore. She’s not even in the top 20!

Britney came in at an incredibly disappointing #23, selling 51,520 copies.

P.S. The Alicia album really is amazing.

The numbers are in!

Both Celine Dion and Alicia Keys released new albums this week. And while they didn’t come into it with any of the Kanye/50 hype, both are expected to sell very well.

Only one will take the #1 spot, though.

No One is expected to sell about 550,000 copies, music biz peeps tell PerezHilton.com.

Meanwhile, Dion’s Taking Chances, her first English-language album in four years, should sell about 250,000.

Congrats to both women.

See, people still buy CDs!

John Mayer collaborated with Alicia Keys on her new album, As I Am, and the results are not disappointing.

Oftentimes when you have two big stars working together, you come out with a lot of duds. But Lesson Learned, Alicia’s duet with Mayer, has “huge hit” written all over it!

Such a beautiful song. Sensual. Wise. Exquisite.

Enjoy it below!
